Rebecca Weir studied Law at Otago University in Dunedin, New Zealand and was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor to the High Court of New Zealand in 2002. Rebecca spent 8 years practising as a commercial property solicitor in New Zealand.
Rebecca’s New Zealand experience includes working for a top tier firm in Christchurch where she acted for large scale commercial property developers, such as the developers of the Clearwater Golf Resort situated beside the Christchurch International Airport.
Rebecca was also a Senior Associate of a provincial firm in the South Island until she moved with her family to Queensland in 2011. In her role as Senior Associate, Rebecca provided commercial and specialised property advice to the firm’s clients, in particular, she advised the Invercargill City Council in respect to property related matters including treatment of foreshore and seabed and reclamation of land.
Rebecca was admitted as a Solicitor to the Supreme Court of Queensland in 2013 and she is also a member of the Australian College of Strata Lawyers (“ACSL”). ACSL is an association of leading legal practitioners in the area of law relating to community living in the form of group title or strata title schemes.
Rebecca specialises in off the plan sales and purchases, the establishment of industrial and residential community title schemes, land sales act subdivisions, community living transactions including retirement village and manufactured home transactions and aged care advice, body corporate and management rights, business sales and acquisitions, residential conveyancing including integrated resort transactions and commercial conveyancing.
