Advising on all manner of commercial disputes, Duane combines his industry knowledge with strong legal, technical and dispute resolution skills to deliver commercial and cost-effective solutions for his clients. As Commercial Litigation Partner, Duane’s expertise includes commercial disputes, estate disputes, building construction disputes, banking finance and insolvency disputes, and defamation.

Duane works closely with his clients and their advisers to identify and analyse issues, allowing him to provide clients with a range of options, which often necessitates decisions to be made under difficult circumstances, and within short time periods.

Duane completed his schooling on the Gold Coast, and before joining MBA Lawyers in 2014. He worked in Brisbane for an international law firm representing major financial institutions and insolvency practitioners. Duane also worked at Queensland’s largest independent law firm representing a range of clients including individuals, corporations both public and private, responsible entities for managed investment schemes and local government authorities.

Duane is a member of the Australian Restructuring Insolvency and Turnaround Association and the Banking & Financial Services Law Association. He has presented to students at Queensland University of Technology and Bond University on commercial litigation as a part of their practical legal training programs.

Duane stays connected with the local community through his role as Chairman of Varsity Lakes Community Bank® Branch of Bendigo Bank, which has proudly delivered over $120,000 in grants, donations and sponsorships to local community groups and organisations in recent years.

In his spare time, Duane can be found with his wife and two boys enjoying local surf breaks, or in the grandstands cheering the Gold Coast Titans at home games.
